We rate fashion brands through an objective 5 star rating system. We consider all aspects of the brand’s practices when determining our ratings, including carbon footprint, payment of living wages, animal treatment, reusable materials/packaging, water and textile waste, or dedication to future sustainable initiatives, and more.

Why does this matter?
While exploring the recent effects of fast fashion, we came across the story of Bithi, a 12-year-old girl from Dhaka, Bangladesh who works for 11 hours a day for only about $1.07. Bithi’s story was extremely moving, and is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to labor standards in the fashion industry. At Greater Closet, we work to educate our users about stories like these to help change shopping habits and make a positive impact on the world, one purchase at a time.
